<p>People spend a lot of money on the creation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. Then a couple months down the track when they need to put signage on their new building they cannot track the design studio down that created the original logo for them and so incur costs to have it recreated. This is needless and may cause complications when trying to recreate the logo exactly as created originally.</p>
<p>We have created some basic tips you for to think about when creating a logo. Hopefully these will help you from experiencing any future obstacles.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 1<br /></strong>First things first - you need to decide if you would like your logo to have an accompanying icon. It is hinted that if your service or product name is not in your business name then perhaps an icon will assist in portraying a clear message across to your target audience.</p>
<p>An icon can add an extra element to your branding in that you could use the icon on its own on collateral where perhaps you are searching for a more illustrative finish without losing recognition.</p>

<p><strong>Tip 8<br /></strong>It is important to have a style guide of your logo. It will clearly show you how to use your logo so it looks exactly the same every time it is reproduced. This allows you to keep your corporate image consistent.</p>

Ever been fired up to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then caught that the crucial tag line is nowhere to be found or your logo has been wrecked.</p>
<p>There is only one way to thwart this from happening and that is to use a style guide. Not only will a style guide assist you oversee the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you extend your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The most typical question asked when acquiring a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: will I purchase an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, an acronym for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, short for ‘digital light processing’ are the two top projector imaging technologies. With so many different brands and different types available, it can be confusing for the buyer to pick between those technologies. The simple fact of the matter is that LCD projectors provide superior image quality and colour accuracy. The next part of this article will tell you why DLP projectors struggle with creating the same grade of image quality.</p>
<p>Imagine a set of blinds in your room on your bedroom window. By twisting a rod you can have the shutters open or closed, according to if you want to let light in or not. Such is exactly how an LCD projector functions. Each pixel operates like a unique shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is created of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as the pros like to call them. Each pixel element functions to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from when the projector switches on to when the image reaches your screen is vitally significant with regard to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors direct white light from the lamp by separating it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which send the coloured light to 3 different LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels create the elements of the image by processing each pixel on and off. The pixels are then meshed in a glass prism to deliver the projector image. An important point to understad about LCD projectors is that all three colours are delivered onto your wall all at the same time. The way a DLP projector runs is totally different and even the produced image looks is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a turning colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of projecting an image requires a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors mentioned above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to create the image elements. The elements of the image are cast in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s eye will then put together each coloured element of the image into a full image. From LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to deliver the top level of brightness and spectacular colour accuracy. In DLP, only one colour is available at once, resulting in lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some DLP designers have added a white segment in the colour wheel to improve overall brightness, but this goes and degrades colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I read in forums all the time that DLP provides a higher contrast ratio and thus must be superior. For those unsure, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the system is capable of. DLP projectors do provide high contrast specifications compared to most LCD projectors. At first glance, this must be a plus, however, in real life, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is being used. Do not be duped by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to bring to life requires moving images, DLP projection technology can also have image errors, or ‘artifacts’. The most common artifact that a DLP projector creates with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is unavoidable in DLP systems because moving images keep changing between the time red, blue and green colours are displayed. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because all colours are processed with the others. DLP builders have created 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to solve the colour break up issue, but the expense of these projectors make them hardly practical for most businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another variance between LCD and DLP is how they make up for the refractive qualities of light. Think back to high school science, and remember how different colours of light refract varied amounts when shone through the same lens. The downfall with DLP projectors is that they take the one same panel for the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are obviously different and refract light differently. Usually with a DLP projector, a superfluous yellow colour will come through above and some blue will appear below an image as simple as a lone black line. In manufacturing LCD projectors can be fixed to remove these effects on the projected image, as each colour is processed on a separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The one true benefit (excluding price) with taking a DLP projector is its smaller total size and weight. However, this is only relevant for mobility and cannot be traded off against the image superiority of LCD projectors. If overall picture quality is crucial to you, then the solution is no-brainer. Take an LCD projector! LCD projectors will constantly create bright, colourful images with fewer image mistakes. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch came to dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the early yacht became a pleasure craft used mostly by royalty and later by the burghers on the canals and then in the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing yachts was incidental, coming out of private matches. English yachting began with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English monarchy in 1660, the city of Amsterdam presented him with a 20-metre (66-foot) pleasure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), ordered for more yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and returning, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting rose as fashionable for the affluent and nobility, but after that time the fashion did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht club in the British Isles, the Water Club, was formed in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard group, with large naval panoply and formality. The closest thing to racing boats was the “chase,” when the “fleet” pursued a fictional enemy. The club went on, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, by merging with other societies, it became the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing began in some ordered fashion on the Thames about the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland instigated the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV rose to monarchy in 1820, it was then called the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded after a racing fight, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht association had been formed at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal funding made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the perpetual location of British yacht racing. The association at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, again at the rise of George IV. Every member was required to own boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing races for great bets were held, and the society life was lovely. Eventually Royal Yachting Club boats grew in size to over 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting was first accomplished with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and persisted when the English held control. Sailing was mostly for leisure and reached its apogee in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which cruised on the Mediterranean Sea and established a minimum of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in those waters from the late 19th century. The first enduring American yacht group, the Detroit Boat Club, was started in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens began the New York Yacht Club aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>Early sailing yachts took the design of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century through the second half of the 19th century. The craft of sizeable yachts was originally greatly impacted by the success of America, which was designed by George Steers for a club headed by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) was named after its success at Cowes in 1851. Earlier yachts were not designed and crafted in the modern sense, with only a model for an outline. Not until the latter half of the 19th century did what was known as naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the application of the science of aerodynamics do for the craft of sails and rigging what it had previously done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because nearly all sailboats were individually manufactured, there came a need for handicapping boats previous to the one-design class boats were designed. Therefore, a rating rule was written, which ended up in the International Rule, accepted in 1906 and edited in 1919. In the present day, one of the most rapidly blossoming areas in sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are built to standard requirements in length, beam, sail area, and other elements (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing such boats can be held on an even keel with no handicapping necessary. A great example is the uniform International America&#8217;s Cup Class adopted for racers in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>For the time that yachting was done largely for the royal and the affluent, money was no problem, and the size of boats developed, in both length and weight. The ascendancy and preference of smaller craft came in the latter half of the 19th century in the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A voyage around the world (1895–98) captained single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray demonstrated the value of less sizeable yachts. Thereafter in the 20th century, for the larger part after World War II, smaller racing and leisure craft became commonplace, down to the dinghy, a favoured training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, yachts of less than 3 m were sailed single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>Following the decade 1840–50, in which steam began to replace sail power in public vessels, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were employed increasingly in leisure boats. Sizeable power yachts were furthered to a high element, and long-distance cruising turned into a fond activity of the affluent. The earliest power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; those then made way to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller type of propulsion. Like naval and merchant boats, auxiliaries carrying both sail and power were the yacht fashion for a number of years. By the second half of the 20th century, several yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were solely power yachts containing gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>In the last decade of the 19th century there was a boom in the design of large steam yachts. In particular within these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, containing triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was operated by a crew of more than 150. The Mayflower, purchased by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and saw active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As more sizeable and more reliable internal-combustion engines were produced, many big boats began using them for power. The development of the diesel engine, employing heavy oil for fuel, was furthered for World War I. From the decade after, big power-yacht building blossomed, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. In that period the biggest auxiliary yacht constructed was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The manufacture of big power yachts declined after 1932, and the style after that was for smaller, less costly yachts. Following World War II, lots of small naval boats were traded by private owners for conversion to yachts. By the late 20th century, yachting has become a widespread beloved sport enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen personally manning and maintaining their own small pleasure craft. The amount of yachts and owners has increased steadily, not only in the traditional places along the seacoasts but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes can be categorized by the impact they have on the distribution of income and wealth. A proportional tax is the kind of tax that applies the same relative burden on each taxpayer—i.e., when tax liability and income move in the same proportion. A progressive tax is recognisable by a greater than proportional increase in the tax burden in regard to the growth in income, and a regressive tax is recognisable by a less than proportional growth in the related burden. So, progressive taxes are thought of as removing a lack of equality in income distribution, but regressive taxes might have the result of increasing these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are normally believed to be progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are nominally progressive, however, could become less so in the upper-income group—particularly if a taxpayer is able to lower his tax base by claiming deductions or by taking particular income components from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates when applied to lower-income groups will also be more progressive if exemptions of a personal nature are claimed.</p>
<p>Income measured over the period of a year does not absolutely come up with the best measure of taxpaying status. For example, transitory increases in income could be saved, and within temporary declines in income a taxpayer may elect to finance consumption by reducing savings. So, if taxation is made comparable with “permanent income,” it will be less regressive (or more progressive) than if held in comparison with annual income.</p>
<p>Sales taxes and excises (with the exception of those on luxuries) are usually regressive, because the spread of one&#8217;s income consumed or spent for a specific good lowers as the amount of personal income grows. Poll taxes (also known as head taxes), levied as a fixed amount per capita, obviously are regressive.</p>
<p>It is not simple to classify corporate income taxes and taxes on business as progressive, regressive, or proportionate, principally due to the uncertainty around the ability of businesses to shift their tax expenses (see below Shifting and incidence). This difficulty of nominating who bears the tax burden is dependant essentially on whether a national or a subnational (that is, provincial or state) tax is being considered.</p>
<p>In analysing the economic effects of taxation, it is important to differentiate between differing points of tax rates. The statutory rates will be nominated in the law; often these are marginal rates, but in some cases they are mean rates. Marginal income tax rates denote the fraction of incremental income taken by taxation when income rises by one dollar. So, if tax onus rises by 45 cents when income grows by one dollar, the marginal tax rate is 45 percent. Income tax statutes generally contain graduated marginal rates—i.e., rates that increase as income increases. Heavy analysis of marginal tax rates must consider provisions as well as the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) falls by 20 cents for each one-dollar growth in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than specified within the statutory rates. Since marginal rates display how after-tax income increases or decreases in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the appropriate ones for assessing incentive effects of taxation.
